  • Matheus began his career in kart races at the age of 7.  He was champion of the Rio Grande do Sul State championship (2003), Santa Catarina Speed Kart (2003) and Serrana Cup (1998). Between 2006 and 2010, he competed in the Rio Grande do Sul State Championship of Formula 1.6 and won the title four times.

    In 2010 and 2011, the young driver won the Brazilian Championship in GT3 class, at the team led by Antonio Hermann and Washington Bezerra. In both years, he also received the Golden Helmet award for the best driver in the category. Matheus also raced in Brazilian Stock Car.

    In 2013 Stumpf was also one of the Brazilian representatives in the FIA GT Series (the Blancpain Sprint Series). He raced for the ACL by Rodrive team, with Patrick Cunha in the Pro-Am category.
