Mercedes-AMG fastest after two days of intensive testing

The second and final day of the Official Test Days for the 2017 Blancpain GT Series at the Circuit Paul Ricard saw plenty of running in excellent weather conditions, with lap times improving all day long. Eventually it was the #89 AKKA-ASP Mercedes-AMG that clocked the quickest time of two days of testing, lapping in 1’56.558.

That lap time was less than a tenth of second quicker than the fastest time of the four hour morning session on Tuesday, with newcomers Orange 1 Team Lazarus clocking a 1’56.620 in their #27 Lamborghini Huracan. With 18 cars in the same second in the morning session and 12 in the afternoon, the competitiveness of the world’s premier GT championship was again clear to see.

With the data gathered during the two days of testing, the teams can now start their final preparations for the opening round of the of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series, on April 1st-2nd at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
